The University grants Excellence Awards for outstanding students accepted to undergraduate studies with particularly high academic achievements.
The awards are granted to students who apply early and are accepted by June 30, 2025, on condition that the relevant department is still open for registration, and subject to the conditions stated below. Candidates who are eligible for an award will receive notification on their acceptance letter. Candidates waitlisted for an award will be updated solely via their personal information area on the University website.
Awards are given for the first year of study only.
Eligibility for the award is determined by candidates’ Psychometric exam/SAT scores, on occasion combined with the final average of the preparatory program (“Mechina”). - Faculty Award

The award confers a 100% exemption covering the full annual tuition fee, but will not exceed the total of the student’s individual tuition fees. Students studying in two departments in different faculties or schools who are eligible for a faculty award from one or both of them, or who are eligible for an award from one of them and for a Department Award in addition, will receive a total award not exceeding the full amount of their tuition fees.

This award confers a 50% exemption from the full annual tuition fee, but will not exceed the total of the student’s individual tuition fees. Students studying in two departments who are eligible for a Department Award in both departments will receive an award no higher than 50% of the full annual tuition fee.
- Award Eligibility and Regulations

Awards are granted only to new students at the Hebrew University, for whom the 2025–2026 academic year is their first year of study (first year of an undergraduate degree). Students must be participating in a full program of study- no less than 90% of the full tuition fee.
Eligibility for the awards will be assessed after course registration and will be updated to the students' account about a month after the beginning of the academic year. The awards do not apply to funded study programs such as Talpiot, Tzameret, Bina, Pisgah, Gamla, etc.
Students whose tuition fees are being paid by another body are not eligible for exemption from tuition fees on the basis of their academic achievements.

Awards are attached to the specific department or faculty to which the student is accepted. Accordingly, it should be noted that if a candidate requests to apply to another department, then the award may subsequently be revoked. Eligibility for an award will also be cancelled if the student cancels the courses in the department granting the award, even if no formal department change has been made.
- Tutition Fee Exemptions for Winners or Participants in Science Olympics

Students who participated in Olympics as high school students in the following fields will be eligible for an exemption from tuition fees for the first year of studies if they are studying in the same field as the relevant Olympic competition. Candidates who won medals in such competitions will be eligible for an exemption from tuition fees for their first year of studies if they study in one of the following departments: philosophy, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, physics, life sciences, and earth sciences. Tuition fee exemptions for the second and third years of study are conditional on being included in the Dean’s List of outstanding students.
Candidates must present an official confirmation of their participation/win to the Applicants Unit after being accepted to the University, and no later than the first day of the academic year. Exemptions will not be granted retroactively, and must be utilized in the first year of studies.
