Applicants to undergraduate studies can choose between programs studied as single-majors and combinations of two programs studied as dual-majors. Up to three preferences, each single or dual-major, can be listed. The same program can be listed in more than one preference.
After choosing a program, applicants are required to select the relevant study track. Please note that some dual-major combinations consist of two pre-assigned programs. In this case, once a program and a track are chosen, the complementary program will be automatically displayed.Listing only one preference does not increase admission chances and applying for additional preferences does not influence admission to higher preferences. It is advisable to apply for additional preferences as alternatives to be considered if admission to the highest preference will not be possible
Prior to completing the online application, we advise candidates to visit the admission prospects website in order to check possible program combinations and view admission requirements.
Please note that decisions are reported according to preferences. Full acceptance to a preference will only be reported once the admission requirements for both tracks of a dual-major preference are met.
If accepted to a higher preference, a candidate's lower preferences will not be processed. However, information regarding admission chances for these programs will be available in case applicants wish to make changes to their list of preferences.
Lower preferences of candidates who are wait-listed for a higher preference will be processed. If the candidate is subsequently accepted to a previously wait-listed preference, any acceptances to lower preferences will be cancelled.Application changes (adding a program, changing the order of preference, etc.) are possible only as long as the requested department is still open for admission.
Candidates/students registered for the 1st semester that wish to update their order of preferences in the 2nd semester of the same year, are required to submit a request by using the contact form.
Candidates to graduate programs: Applicants can apply for up to three preferences. Application changes (adding a program, changing the order of preference, etc.) are possible only as long as the requested department is still open for admission.
If accepted to a higher preference, a candidate's lower preferences will not be processed. However, applicants will be informed about the faculty's decision regarding admission to lower preferences in case they wish to change the order of preference.
Candidates/students registered for the 1st semester that wish to update their order of preferences in the 2nd semester of the same year, are required to submit a request by using the contact form.
- Formal Acceptance
-
An official acceptance letter issued by the Overseas Applicants Unit is the only evidence of acceptance to the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Some candidates may receive an acceptance letter conditional upon: proof of completion of current studies, fulfillment of the Hebrew and/or English requirement/s, or submission of official documents. Conditional acceptance for undergraduate studies is valid only as long as the program accepts applications. Once the deadline has passed, all applicants missing admission criteria or applicants that were conditionally accepted, will be rejected from the program, with the exception of Rothberg Mechina students 2024/25.
Following an unconditional acceptance letter, candidates are required to pay a deposit in order to ensure their place in the program. The payment is made on the Personal Information Website.
Competitive undergraduate programs may, at some point, decide to cancel the acceptance of candidates that did not pay the deposit.Candidates may be informed about their chances of acceptance during pre-application counseling and processing. This information can in no way be construed as an official acceptance.
It is possible to check the status of an application and see Psychometric Test scores on the Personal Information Website.
Registration for classes will be possible only after all the conditions are fulfilled and an official letter is issued to that effect.
